Minister Eoghan Murphy visits the GR3C
Minister Eoghan Murphy met with the Cork-based Research Team this morning, which presented the Centre with the opportunity to discuss first-hand the recent launch of IFS 2020/Action Plan 2017, which the Minister was at pains to emphasise was very much a ‘living’ document and in particular the criticality of GRC/RegTech as a potentially key driver/point of differentiation for Ireland Inc.
Peter Cowap & Tom Butler outlined the Centre’s ongoing research and related activities, including the close collaborations through Paul @ NUIG-Insight and Cal @ UCD.
The importance, exemplified by way of live use cases, of the engagement with Industry/CSC/Membership was noted.
The Minister graciously acknowledged the work of the Centre and provided an ‘open-door’ to the Centre’s participation and contribution to the progression of related aspects of IFS2020/Action Plan 2017.
As with the Minister’s predecessor, we will hopefully see the Minister at a forthcoming CSC. Both Daithi and Anthony joined us for this meeting in the South Mall, the latter can be witnessed in action (Below)
